5 Footsteps in a Woman’s Lifelong Pilgrimage

Pilgrimage – Retreat with Regina Sara Ryan

June 27 until June 30, 2013, Suzana Monastery, Romania

Join author and retreat leader Regina Sara Ryan and a small group of courageous women, pilgrims, as we consider taking five simple (but challenging) footsteps that can transform our journey through life from an unconscious “trip” or “ride” to a heart-centered and intentional pilgrimage.

Based in her own experience on the Path for over forty years, and drawing from several different traditions, Regina will encourage us to “listen within” and thus re-discover the principles that can start and maintain a lifelong course along a sacred way.

The Five Footsteps we will consider are:

• The Step from Small to Big
• The Step from Fast to Slow
• The Step from No to Yes
• The Step from Me to Us
• The Step from Head to Heart.

This retreat-pilgrimage will allow us to spend time alone, as well as time with other “pilgrims,” in a new and inspirational environment. It will be a chance to rest and renew, to enjoy the good company of our sisters on the path, and to help us clarify our own deep intentions for life.

Regina Sara Ryan has made many pilgrimages in her life, including several to India, and many more tiny ones that have made the biggest difference. Today she makes frequent pilgrimage to the Samadhi (burial) site of her spiritual teacher of twenty-eight years, Western Baul Khepa Lee Lozowick, where she rests in the silence of the Arizona desert and listens. Regina is the author of numerous popular books about health and about spiritual life, including The Wellness Workbook, and The Woman Awake. (See www.reginasararyan.com). A frequent visitor to Romania, Regina has been pleased to lead seminars and pilgrimages for women about topics of importance, such as awareness, gratitude and compassion.

The schedule for these days is:

• Thursday June 27
  • Departure from Bucharest and arriving at Suzana Monastery
• Friday June 28 and Saturday June 29 - Time together with Regina at the monastery and vicinity (meditations, walking in nature, writing and other activities)
• Sunday June 30
  • Departure to Bucharest.

Situated on Teleajenului Valey at 40 km from Valenii de Munte an 5 km from Cheia, in a beautiful natural area of Romania, Suzana Women Monastery is a monument of spirituality and art. Built in 1740 by a woman named Suzana Arsicu, it is placed in a meadow guarded by two rivers, where silence reigns.
